Herb Liqueurs

Herbal liqueur lore is filled with colorful characters. Monks searching for the elixir of life, doctors concocting dubious health potions, recipes kept secret for generations. And they do tend to add an authentic, pungent note to drinks. Many herbal liqueurs can be drunk as an aperitif over ice, or used in cocktails (mixed with soda water and a fruit garnish), or mixed with tonic or various soft drinks. Today liqueurs are made worldwide and can be enjoyed many different ways, including by themselves, poured over ice, with coffee, and mixed with cream or other mixers to create cocktails. They are often served with or as a dessert. Liqueurs may also be used in cooking.

Liqueurs are not usually aged for long periods, but may have resting periods during their production to allow flavors to marry.
