Which Is The Ultimate Blender?
Cocktail Kid 04-jul-07 11:43
I just read the article above and wanted to rise the question about which is the ultimate blender?
I’m planning on buying one for my self and wondered which one is the best?
I want one that can help me blend those really fresh summer drinks, but still don’t force me to sell my apartment. =)
Any ideas anyone?

The true test of a blender is its ability to crush ice. The last thing you need is large chunks of ice floating around in your blended drinks!

I have a Waring bar blender which works really well for this. The only drawback is that mine has a glass container, and glass chips or breaks (mine chipped). Waring now offers a bar blender with a stainless steel container which is what I would buy today.

I also have one from L'Equip. It works like the Waring, but it has variable speed control unlike the Waring which offers just low or high speed. It also has a cool looking tachometer on it which always draws comments from my guests ;)

You can't go wrong with either. Both are the same price at around $130.

If you are just making a couple of drinks, the Magic Bullet sytem is inexpensive and works well. For higher volume, I prefer the Hamilton Beach TANGO blender($300) with wave action. That is the commercial model that you can find at a restaraunt supply store. They do make other versions that cost less($40 & up). Make sure that the blender you pick uses their wave-action system. these blenders work well and have a good warranty.
