ABSOLUT VODKA has just introduced its premium vodka flavoured with the true taste of mango! ABSOLUT MANGO is aromatic and juicy, with a pronounced and genuine character of ripened mango.

The mango is the second most popular fruit in the world; it originated in Southeast Asia and India many thousand years ago and travelled to South America, Africa and the US. Today it is one of the world’s most popular fruits, grown in nearly all tropical regions and loved by me and people around the world. Nevertheless the Mango is still underdeveloped as a flavor and with the introduction of a mango-flavored vodka ABSOLUT is once again securing its position as an industry leader. The tradition of breaking into new flavor segments was established as early as 1988 with the launch of ABSOLUT CITRON, still the largest flavored vodka in the US.

It could and should of course be enjoyed neat or over ice, but it will also be an excellent base for cocktails and drinks with extreme possibilities for the creative bartender; it blends well with tastes like lime, pineapple, chili, apple and even grapefruit.

As with all members of the ABSOLUT VODKA family, ABSOLUT MANGO brings out the true taste of each flavour because it’s made by all natural ingredients and contains no added sugar or sweetener so the bartender or customers can themselves decide how sweet their drink shall taste.

Now, you might want some inspiration on what to mix with the ABSOLUT MANGO. So far I’ve found that A.M. is delicious as well as this version of the Classic Mojito: ABSOLUT MANGO MOJITO. Try it you’ll like it! My personal ABSOLUT MANGO favorite, however, would be the Cinnamon Sour:

A little trivia about the mango.
• Mangos come in different shades of green, yellow and red. When selecting a mango, don’t just judge the fruit by color alone. Squeeze it gently. A ripe mango will be slightly soft to the touch.

• The mango tree reaches 35-40 m in height, with a crown radius of 10 m.

• Unripe mangos will continue to ripen at room temperature. To speed up ripening, place the fruits in a paper bag. Ripe mangos should be stored in 12-16°C.

• Mangos are distantly related to the cashew and the pistachio.

• Experts at the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany have traced the origin of mango to the hills of Meghalaya, India from a 65 million year-old fossil of a mango leaf. India is by far the largest producer of mangoes in the world, they have more than half of the worlds production.
